Speaker:

Derek is Senior Brand Experience Manager - Global Brand at Vermeer Corporation, a global manufacturing leader of high-quality industrial and agricultural equipment. Rooted in finding a better way, iconic Vermeer yellow iron delivers a real impact on the way important work gets done. In his current role, Derek is responsible for leading global brand management and creative excellence throughout the organization. As well as driving creative strategy for major campaigns, product launches, events and shows. All the while carrying the enduring Vermeer culture forward. Derek serves on the Vermeer Board of Directors, as well as several other local boards in and around the Pella, Iowa, area.

Derek graduated from Dordt University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Communication. 

Before joining Vermeer in 2023, Derek was Founder/Chief Creative Officer at Brand Appeal, a creative agency, in Pella, Iowa. He also served as Creative Director at Pella Art & Graphics in Pella, Iowa, Web Designer and Set Coordinator at Home Decorators Collection in Ballwin, Missouri, as well as Lead Designer at Hi-Tech Communications in St. Louis, Missouri. Derek and his wife Lindsey live in Pella, Iowa, with their four girls.
